Toilet Repair Project

There are many different things that can go wrong with a toilet, and I can confidently say we can pretty much handle any one of them. This particular issue was caused by poor installation of the toilet by a previous plumber.

Customer called with an issue of their toilet being loose at the base, causing leaking through the area where the base meets the bathroom floor. We pulled the toilet out, only to find that the closet flange was 2” below the tile floor. The previous contractor had improperly stacked several wax seals on top of each other, preventing the toilet from making a proper seal and subsequently rocking loose. We added hardened plastic spacers to build up the flange, making the surface level with tile floor. Added a thick #10 wax seal, new closet bolts and reset toilet. Success!
